Dwight:  the current scheme defining ZWave devices as outputs doesn’t prohibit their use.  I have several interior and exterior ZWave switches controlling lights (haven’t set up a ZWave outlet yet).  They can be controlled manually via the ElkConnect phone app, or via E27 rules.   There may be some complications if your client is wanting to integrate with a 3rd-party home automation controller or hub to set up “scenes” (I’m not doing that), but if its just basic control within the ELK environment, you’ve got it now.  You just have to use a different menu in the app or set up rules for outputs to turn them on or off.

That being said, I do have one annoying thing to bring to the attention of the Elk team.  The slider bar for turning outputs on and off is tight between the right side of the phone screen and the adjacent network strength indicator, and apparently my fingers are too fat.  Every time I try to move the slider, I just end up opening the output detail instead.  I have repeat it five or six times to get it right or else use a stick to toggle the slider.  Its very annoying.
